OUR MISSION

"One that reveals the very roots of who we are!"

- Lisa Mutua, Founder.

ILISAH was born from a vision to redefine fashion through a lens of purpose and impact. The name "ILISAH" comes from the Swahili word for "the World," representing our deep commitment to the people and the planet. Every product we create tells a story of empowerment, craftsmanship, and sustainability. From the very beginning, we’ve worked to forge deep relationships with local artisans and cotton farmers, emphasizing ethical practices throughout our supply chain.

Our Mission

Our mission is clear: To offer high-quality, handcrafted products while fostering dignified work opportunities that break the cycle of poverty. We’re proud to say that 90% of our artisans are women, many coming from underserved communities. By providing fair wages, benefits, and a safe environment for growth, we empower our artisans to thrive and create the beautiful products you see today.

  • HANDMADE IN KENYA

We are committed to providing dignified work for communities in Kenya. We want to make a better future by doing right in the present. We’re aiming to building over 100 jobs for people who have been left behind by the global economy.

  • HELP OUR PLANET

Our products are made with sustainably grown cotton and Vegan leather. Sustainable industry is key to a thriving planet for everyone. Our products are not made in a corporate factory, they're made with care to benefit generations to come. We do not package our products in plastic.

  • FOR A GOOD CAUSE

Your money is not going to some mega corporation or factory, it's going to a good cause that will benefit generations to come. Our business is not only driven by profit, but with a mission to lift people out of generational poverty.

  • BLACK OWNED. WOMAN OWNED.

Wealth inequality is a story of gender and racial inequality. We believe that providing opportunities to traditionally underrepresented people is the best way to make a difference. Vote for equality with how you spend your money. Buy black owned. Buy woman owned.
