Lisa Mutua
Lisa believes that by holding herself to a higher ethical standard, she can make the world a more beautiful place. She calls it being “ethically elevated.” For her, this means prioritizing artistry over efficiency, fair wages over profits, sustainability over mass production, and quality craftsmanship over mindless consumption.
Lisa also knows that unfairness and hidden practices are the opposite of beauty, which is why she is committed to full transparency in everything she does. When you shop with ILISAH, you can trust that every product is responsibly crafted, made with sustainable materials, and that the artisans were paid fair wages.
It’s a big vision, but Lisa is determined to make it a reality – one beautiful, ethical piece at a time.
Brian Musili
Brian is the Head of Operations at ILISAH, but he’s also our go-to tech guy! With a strong background in tech, he oversees and ensures the efficient and smooth execution of everything at the company. He’s also responsible for formulating policies and devising strategies that help us grow and improve. Whether it’s streamlining processes, handling tech issues, or shaping the company’s direction, Brian’s got it covered. His versatility and problem-solving skills make him an invaluable part of the team.
Anne Rita Koki
Koki fell in love with the work and mission of ILISAH from the very beginning. What started as a simple interest quickly blossomed into a true passion. She now plays a key role in sourcing materials, building relationships with contractors, and ensuring the workshop runs smoothly. Koki is dedicated to maintaining our high standards of quality control, making sure every ILISAH product is crafted to perfection.
But her talents don’t end there – Koki is also a natural baby whisperer, keeping the workshop babies happy and calm while their moms work. Her unwavering dedication to both the craft and the community makes her an essential part of the ILISAH family, and we’re so grateful for all the heart she brings to the team!
Irene Kahindi
Irene is a talented mom of two who loves sewing and creating beautiful, durable bags. In the workshop, she’s not just a skilled artisan – she’s also the life of the party! Irene’s quick wit and funny stories keep everyone laughing as they work.
Her passion for her craft is matched only by her dedication to her family. Working with ILISAH has given her the chance to support her boys while doing what she loves. Each bag she makes is a reflection of her talent, warmth, and the joy she brings to the team.
When you carry an ILISAH bag made by Irene, you’re not just carrying a bag – you’re carrying a piece of her story!
Mary Atieno
Mary is a proud mom to a chubby, bubbly one-year-old who keeps her on her toes! She joined ILISAH as a cleaner and cook, but her passion for learning quickly turned her into a skilled artisan. In no time, Mary learned to cut fabric for bags and sew napkins and tea towels with precision.
Her journey with ILISAH has been nothing short of inspiring. Mary’s dedication to her family and her craft shows in every piece she creates. What started as a job to support her little one has now become a chance for growth and empowerment.
When you buy a product made by Mary, you're supporting not just her craft, but her story of hard work and growth.
